Grade 1 & 2 (Little League Age Chart)

The Rookie Division is designed for new and returning players.  The fundamentals in the popular “Intro to Baseball” format are continued with skill development and a fun game environment.  Skills developed include: Throwing, Catching, Fielding, Hitting, Running and Agility/Running - and of course, Teamwork!  Volunteer Parent Coaches are provided weekly lesson plans and league supported training throughout the season. The players will participate in one practice and one game per week.

During games, players will bat every inning and players are encouraged to rotate and try all fielding positions as well.  This is a progressive level and work will be done with the Tee, Coach Pitch and advance quickly to the pitching machine.  Players will also learn the concept of “outs” and competitive play is introduced.  No standings are kept at this age group.

KLL will endeavour to accommodate friendship requests and each team will likely have 10-12 players.

Every child will receive a Team T-shirt, individualized participation medal, and a professional team photo during the season.

Depending on registrations, there may be the option for All Girls team(s) at the Rookie level.
