The All Stars and Selects are competitive post season tournament teams that are formed at the conclusion of the KLL regular season.  KLL season ends with Closing Day on June 18th this year.

To be eligible to play on All-Star and Selects teams, players must meet age requirements (detailed below by team) and either reside or attend school within the KLL boundaries.  Please click on the following link to view the map boundaries: HERE

Please see details below for the various teams outlining eligibility, time commitment and schedules.

To play on an All-Stars or Selects team, it is through an application process.  For 2022, the application process is as follows:

  • April 25 - All-Stars and Selects players application and coaches application are accepted
  • April 29 - All-Stars and Selects open Information Q&A Session for parents
  • May 4 - Last day for coaches applications
  • May 11 - Last day for All-Stars and Selects players applications
  • May 18 - All-Stars and Selects assessments (mandatory to be considered for the teams)
  • After May 20 - All-Stars and Selects teams are announced

 

11/12 ALL-STARS

Players must be baseball age 11 or 12 - date of birth between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2011.

Practices and exhibition games will begin soon after the regular season concludes on June 18.  The team will compete in the District 1 Tournament with Jericho , Dunbar and Little Mountain.  Majors Districts will be from July 6 - 17, 2022 (hosted by Little Mountain).

The winner of the District Tournament will go on to play in the Provincial Championship.  Majors Provincials will be from July 23 - 30,2022 (hosted by Whalley).

The winner of the Provincial Championship will go on to play in the National Championship in August.

Players can expect to practice or play most days from mid June through to the end of tournament play, potentially into mid-end of July.  To be considered for this team, players should be available to practice and play from June until July 30 as player commitment will be expected.

 

11 SELECTS

Players must be baseball age 11 - date of birth between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011.

Practices and exhibition games will begin shortly after June 18.  In the past, we have competed in a tournament  hosted by Jericho Little League, Mount Seymour Little League and the Drew Henderson Tournament hosted by Whalley Little League.  Commitment is about 3-4 days per week through to the end of tournament play which could be as late as near the end of the third week in July.

 

9/10 ALL-STARS

Players must be baseball age 9 or 10 - date of birth between September 1, 2011 and August 31, 2013.

Practices and exhibition games will begin after the regular season concludes on June 18.  Will compete in the District 1 Tournament with Jericho, Dunbar and Little Mountain.  9/10s Districts will be from June 28 - July 10, 2022 (hosted by Kerrisdale Litte League).  

The winner of the District Tournament will go on to play in the Provincial Championships.  9/10s Provincials will be from July 16 - 23, 2022 (hosted by Dunbar).

Players can expect to practice or play most days from mid June through to the end of tournament play, potentially into the second week of July.  To be considered for this team, players should be available to practice and play from June until July 23 as player commitment will be expected.

 

9 SELECTS

Players must be baseball age 9 - date of birth between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013.  Players "baseball age" 8 can be considered.

Practices and exhibition games will begin shortly after June 18.  Players can expect to play in 3 tournaments: District Tournament hosted by KLL, Canada Day Tourney hosted by Lynn Valley LL, and the Langley Select 9's Tourney from July 5-14.  Commitment is about 3-4 days per week through to the end of tournament play in mid-July.

 

8 SELECTS

Players must be baseball age 8 or younger - date of birth between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014.

Team is chosen not by a formal tryout process but through coach recommendations and in season performance.  The team will play in the "Candy Cup" hosted my Mount Seymour Little League July and a few exhibitions between mid June and early July.

Format of play for this level is pitching machine (as used in KLL Minor B division).  Priority is given to players who are 8, but 7 year old players can be considered.

 

ALL-STAR AND SELECT TEAM FEES

Players that are placed on a team will be required to pay an additional fee.  These fees will be based on any additional costs for the team such as customized caps, jerseys, merchandise, umpires, tournament fees etc.  The range for these fees will likely be between $150-$250 depending on the specific team.
