Kerrisdale Little League is pleased to share an important update regarding the structure of our pitching divisions for the upcoming season.

After consultation with the KLL Board, our Development Committee, and Veteran Coaches, we have made adjustments to better reflect the growth, competitiveness, and skill level within our league.

Why the Change?

In recent seasons, we have experienced strong registration numbers in our upper divisions, along with a very competitive showing at player evaluations. Previously, the Pitching Division included Majors and Minor A, while Minor B was introduced as a transitional hybrid pitching and non-pitching division.

Given the continued growth and development of our players, KLL identified an opportunity to expand and re-tier these divisions to better meet the needs of our players and provide appropriate levels of competition and development.

What’s Changing?

To reflect the increased competitiveness and clearer progression within the pitching divisions, we are adopting new division names:

  • AAA – formerly Minor A – increased level of difficulty and competitiveness
  • AA – formerly Minor B – transitioning from hybrid pitching/non-pitching to primarily a pitching division – Assessments now required for team balancing.

Placement Information

Players Registered in Minor B

  • Will automatically be placed in AA.
  • We understand that the shift from a non-pitching format to a primarily pitching division may be a significant step for some players.
  • If you believe your player would benefit from remaining in a non-pitching environment, they may be placed in the Rookie Division to continue developing their skills with confidence.  Please contact registrar@kerrisdalebaseball.com to enact this change if you desire.

Players Registered in Minor A

  • Based on assessments, players will be placed in either AAA or AA.
  • Both divisions are pitching divisions.
  • Our goal is to ensure players are placed where they can thrive, continue developing, enjoy the game, and experience balanced competition.
  • Players who participated in Minor A last season will be placed in AAA this season.

Players Registered in Majors

  • Based on assessments, players will be placed in either Majors or AAA, depending on skill level.
  • Both are pitching divisions focused on development and appropriate competition.
  • Players who participated in Majors last season will remain in Majors this season.

These changes are designed to support player growth, improve competitive balance, and provide a clearer developmental pathway within KLL. Our priority remains ensuring that every player is placed in an environment where they can build skills, gain confidence, and most importantly, have fun.  The full rules for each of these divisions can be found on our website here.

The Majors and AAA team draft will be occurring later this week and player placement will be announced shortly afterwards.  If you have any questions about your player’s placement, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support of KLL and we look forward to season start in a few short weeks.
