Minor B Division

7 - 9 year olds

This division is for 7-9 year olds. This division uses a pitching machine only (no coach pitching). This version of baseball is the next step towards real baseball as the pitching machine is set at a higher velocity. The harder level 5 balls are used.  KLL will endeavour to accommodate friendship requests and each team will have 10 - 12 players.

Players in Grade 3 will be required to attend KLL pre-season assessments in January for the possibility of being placed in the Minor A division. In the past seasons, roughly 33% of players who were in Grade 3 during that season played in Minor A and 67% played in Minor B.  For the coming season, we anticipate a similar split for players in Grade 3.  Our goal is to place players in the division where they can have fun and develop their skills.

Player Commitment

One to two games per week (3 innings approx. 2.5 hours in duration)

One practice during the weekend (1.5 hours long)

All games will be played at Quilchena Park North and teams will practice at either Quilchena or Maple Grove Park.

Parent Commitment

Each parent is required to help out with their child’s game on a rotating basis. The duties include bench parent, snack duty and field set up/take down for the home team. Duties will be assigned by the team manager at the beginning of the season.
