Grade 2 & 3 (Little League Age Chart)

This Division is composed primarily for 8-9 year olds and competitive 7 year olds.  Minor B focuses on developing players skills both offensively and defensively.   This is progressive level starting with a Pre-Season, moving to a Regular Season and finishing with Play-offs.  A pitching machine is predominantly used but Player Pitching is introduced for 1 and 2 innings per game mid-season.  Volunteer Parent Coaches are provided weekly lesson plans and league supported training throughout the season.  Between practices, batting cage and games, players can expect to play ball 3 times a week.  Scores are kept, standings maintained and there are playoffs.

All players wishing to play Minor B are required to attend KLL pre-season assessments. Coaches draft players onto teams based on pre-season assessment scores. Friendship requests can be made and coaches will endeavour to accommodate but balanced teams are desired for competitive and enjoyment purposes.  Teams will be balanced based on player ability and age, and each team will have 11-13 players.

In this division, players who are recommended by their coach may have the opportunity to be called up to play Minor A games, as long as those games do not conflict with the player’s own Minor B team game.

Every player will receive a training shirt, ball cap, individualized participation trophy, and a professional team photo during the season.

The season will finish at Elm Park on Closing Day with the Championship game.
