Minor A Division

9-11 yr olds

For 9-11 year olds, although 8 year olds may try out to "play up" based on their previous year's coach assessment, pre-season assessment scores, and space in the program. Minor A is the division where players learn to pitch. Returning players should have played 1-2 years of Minor B. Coaches will draft players onto teams and consequently there will be no friendship requests. Teams will be balanced based on player ability, age, and each team will have 12 players.

This game marks the continuing progression from T-Ball to baseball, as we add stealing bases, player pitching, and nine defensive players in the field. There are 1 -2 practices a week, and 1 -2 games a week. Scores are kept, standings maintained and there are playoffs. Players should remain in this division for 1-2 years for development reasons.

In this divison, players who are recommended by their coach have the opportunity to be called up to play Majors games if the Majors game is not on the same day as the player's own team game. For keen and able Minor A players, playing up in the Majors is an excellent chance to play more ball at a higher level, often against other league's teams.
