Hello Kerrisdale Little League Umpires,
We are holding the clinic and organizational meeting this Saturday April 4th, 2009 from 1 to 3 pm in the Seniors Centre at the Kerrisdale Community Centre.
The agenda for the meeting will be:
-distribution of schedule for 2009
-review of sign up process
-review of rates and payment process
-review of equipment (rule book; hats; shirts; counters; safety gear)
-clinic by John Florio and 2 other Division Umpires
-questions
This year we will be having the following umpire positions for both regular season and playoffs:
-Minor B plate umpire (NEW - no prior umpire experience required)
-Minor A plate and base umpires (baseball knowledge necessary with some umpire experience preferred but not mandatory. Those without umpire experience are recommended to start as base umpire until comfortable)
-Major B plate and base umpires (baseball knowledge and previous experience required for plate umpire. Base umpire need not have prior umpire experience although preferred)
-Major A plate and base umpires (baseball knowledge and previous experience required for both positions except with prior approval)
The clinic is mandatory. Please make an effort to be there. If you cannot make it and want to umpire then please contact Mike Watt at mwatt@ahbl.ca.
Please pass on this information to others you may know who are interested in umpiring. This is a great way to be involved in baseball and your community, while earning some extra money. The games will run for 2 months from the end of April through to the middle of June.
